Ana de Armas Stars in Final Ballerina Trailer Before Release
Only three weeks to go until the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina spins out in theaters! Ana de Armas, starring in the John Wick universe, will be landing on June 6, 2025. A lot has happened in the franchise in the past 12 years, and the new film is ready to dive into some new elements with this one. To celebrate the arrival of Ballerina, Lionsgate has released a brand new final trailer.
Directed by longtime series collaborator (through Stacie Passon) David Leitch, the film tells the story of Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) and her path to becoming one of the highly sought-after ballerina assassins. Ballerina takes place during the time of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which means this is Keanu Reeves and his John Wick’s run-in with the Young International. When John Wick killed crime boss Santino D’Antonio (Ian McShane) in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, he was put on an “excommunicado” and hit with an $18 million bounty by the High Table. After escaping across New York City for days, John found himself with the Ruska Roma, a nomadic crime group. This group of criminals was led by an unseen, all-powerful leader known as The Director (Anjelica Huston) and had served as a ballet academy in training their violent ballerina assassins.
The Russo Roma appears briefly in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum during a moment on stage when Eve (played by Unity Phelan in the earlier film) is rehearsing for a ballerina routine. Ballerina takes a look at Phelan’s character from Parabellu,m a little more than three years later, as she is all grown up (Ana de Armas) and serves as the main protagonist in her spin-off movie.
Returning to the spin-off, in addition to de Armas and Huston, are Ian McShane as Winston, the manager of the Continental, while the late Lance Reddick also returns for his final on-screen appearance as Charon (the always helpful and efficient concierge of the Continental). Gabriel Byrne is the Chancellor, the film’s villain, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster is Nogi, Eve’s teacher and mentor. Norman Reedus is Daniel Pine, while Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Castañeda are also part of the cast.
Ana de Armas stars as Eve Macarro in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina
The first trailer of Ballerina was released in September 2024 and introduced audiences to the beginning of Eve. Orphaned as a child, she was taken in by the Ruska Roma and had one goal in mind: to hunt down those responsible for the brutal death of her father.
The second trailer dropped in March 2025, and as expected, it was everything fans wanted. They got more of Eve meeting up with John Wick in what appeared to be a snowy town. If the information that fans already had was about the history of Eve, this second trailer gave them a peek into the relationship between the two assassins and how it played out on screen.
The third and final trailer features Eva getting sniped by John (yes, you read that right) right in the heart. As it slowly cuts back and forth to her, jumping between a few newly released scenes, what is presented is the final buildup to her inevitable fight against the world. The newly released scenes feature Ana de Armas slugging it out against trained goons who cannot stand up to her grace, skill, and ability to kill her foes in style. The early released footage weaves throughout to show what is making Eve so angry that she goes on this murderous rampage to take out all of her targets.
There is not much to say about this final trailer except that it is everything fans wanted. More scenes of Ana de Armas killing anyone who crosses her path to get to those who ended the life of her father and that special someone. The film has a release date set for June 6, 2025, so grab your popcorn (literally or just at home), and press that “play” button because From the World of John Wick: Ballerina will undoubtedly keep you on the edge of your seat (don’t forget to wear your mask when you’re done).
